The purpose of this event was to demonstrate the value of Symbian’s Ecosystem to customers and partners, and to update them with the latest technology developments. The client wanted to maximise the opportunities for networking between Licensees, Operators and Partners in order to generate business within its Ecosystem. A key challenge was to ensure that only the right people attended - this was a closed event requiring attendees to participate under NDA and to meet specific criteria.
To ensure no unapproved applicant slipped through the net, we created and a fully branded, flexible and user-friendly attendee registration system with functionality to approve or decline registrants depending on whether they met the given criteria for attendance. This took the headache away from the client having to manually check each applicant as had occurred in previous years. L2 meticulously managed the NDA collection in advance of the event to prevent any unauthorised attendee entering the closed sessions. To maximise networking opportunities, we managed a partner exhibition with impressive demos and multimedia, a Fast Pitch session allowing ecosystem members to rapidly pitch their ideas to Licensees and Operators, a series of bookable 1-to-1 meetings and a relaxed and informal Drinks Reception to round off the event. Given our thorough understanding of the client’s objectives and what makes them tick, L2 acted as an ‘extended arm’ of Symbian, allowing us to take the lead on much of the key decision-making on their behalf and letting them to focus on their core business.
Over 450 authorised delegates attended from all areas of the ecosystem. We had excellent feedback on the quality and time allowed for networking opportunities. The success of the SPE led to immediate planning of a repeat event 6 months later.
